Judith Lewis

Deep Run

"Judith Lewis passed with peace and grace on January 11th at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville. Judith survived by her two daughters, Leslie Ross of Deep Run, NC and Marty Farr of Napa, CA ; grandchildren, Heather, Amanda, Robb, Jay, Sharidy, Kristy, Mandy, many great grandchildren; and her poodle, Sugar.

Judith was born in Pocatello , Idaho and spent most of her life in the twin cities of Minnesota. After college, she found more happiness in staying home with her daughters and would often take them to the parks by the lake, museums, theaters, and anywhere that nature existed. She had a true passion for children and took every opportunity to be with her grandchildren and loved telling them stories from her life and could always find a way to bring out the best of their imaginations. She just loved people and enjoyed learning about their lives.

During her journey through life, she fell in love with reading, singing, and anything that involved learning. She was perfectly content with a good book or a good movie and grew quite a collection over the years that she often shared with her family. She spent most of her life in Minnesota enjoying the busyness of the big city, but was no stranger to the water either. She took time away from city living to enjoy the lake in Montana and the coast of North Carolina.

She loved collecting anything with butterflies and birds and collected beautiful angels too. She found much joy in taking her poodle, Sugar, anywhere she went and when getting out became too much for her, Sugar would snuggle right by her side.

Judith had the most beautiful smile that could brighten anyone's day and more than anything she wanted everyone to be happy. She could tell the most intriguing life stories and anyone listening was sure to learn something. She was strong in her faith and at peace with her life. She will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her and with each day that passes, she will forever be cherished in our memories.
A private family memorial was held to celebrate her life on January 13th, 2017.”
