Obituary

Jean Jones, 78, passed away peacefully in her home on January 9, 2017. She was surrounded by her closest family members and loved ones.
Jean was born in Duplin County on June 15, 1938 to Ray and Pearl Garner. Raised by her grandmother Sarah Herring (Mamie) she became close to many cousins.
Jean attend B. F. Grady through High School where she enjoyed playing basketball with her cousins and close friends. She was popular and loved by many of her peers.
Jean was known for her beauty inside and out. She never met a stranger and was such a giving person. She did not want anyone to go without. Jean enjoyed spending time outside looking at her hummingbirds and flowers in her later years.
Her happiest moments include time spent with her family especially watching her grandchildren grow.
Loved by many, she will be greatly missed. Those who were fortunate to know her, are truly blessed to carry a memory of her in their heart.
Jean is survived by her husband Skeet Jones of the home. Her children son Kemp Britt of Greensboro, daughter Terri Miller of Albertson and friend Grayling Murphy, daughter Tammy Register of Albertson and friend Todd Ard, daughter Vonda Grady and husband Barney of Kenansville, daughter Karolee Myers and husband Don of Goldsboro. 9 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren Multiple cousins and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Pink Hill Funeral Home with the Rev. Maynard "Bud" Quinn and the Rev. Tim Grady officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park in Pink Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in may be made to St. Judes.
