Roger Gene Baysden, Jr., 56, of Deep Run passed away peacefully on Friday, February 23 at home surrounded by his family.
Roger was preceded in death by: Roger Gene Baysden (Margaret), Ernest N. Murphy, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Richard Baysden (Retha), maternal grandparents, Prentice Tyndall (Tempie) and special angel Baby Boy Clark.
Roger was born in Lenoir County on February 13, 1968 to Roger Gene Baysden and Patricia T. Murphy. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Roger was baptized a member on February 14, 1976, where he held numerous callings in the Church. He was sealed to his family in the Washington, D.C. Temple on April 8, 1994. Roger also served an Honorable Mission at the Salt Lake City, South Mission.
Roger is survived by his mother, Patricia T. Murphy; son, Roger Gene Baysden III “Trey” (Annie); daughter, Taylor B. Clark (Josh); siblings, Rhonda B. Gibson, Maria M. Moore (Michael), Donna M. Barwick (Chris) and Ernie Murphy (April); grandchildren, Braxton and Brinleigh Clark and Aria Baysden; the mother of his children, Susan Murphy(Bryan); special uncle and aunt, Lonnie and Rebecca Rodgers and special cousin, Donna Cheshire; and many other special uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Pink Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Woodington Ward with burial following at Tyndall’s Earthly Estate on Prentice Tyndall Lane in Deep Run.
